So today we had 5 people speaking at the USA TODAY building and it was so cool. The building was so detailed and nothing was out of place, at least i think so. It was tall and shiny and that it was a really cool building.
At the press confrence the guy that answers to the press for obama really didnt hit the issues right on he just kinda went around it or never really answered the question. I thought that he was just making stuff up, cuz he kept saying um or uh and that was really making me mad. In my school we would have to stand in front of the group and talk with out saying um or uh if we did say one of them then we would get points takin off. Sorry that probably makes no since but i just hate that.
The panel was really good. They were younger and they thought like us and had the closest age difference and they see whats going on with the news papers that are dying and they are part of the generation that is going to experiance the e journalism online.
I tought today was a pretty laid back day and i really liked it. The dance was awesome and i think that people will remeber this camp forever and look back upon it and see how close we came in just a few days. Our group has really bonded i was suprised. Last night we actually had a party and we were laughing and singing it was really good for all of us to be able to do that. Everyone was so tired threw out this whole week and i think it just made us work even harder to think what we really want to do.
Tomorrow is gunna be really hard to say goodbye to everyone expecially my group and Forest and Bubba. Everyone really made an impact on my life. I learned that kids from all over the country can become close friends and they dont even know it till you make them.
Well i have to go tomorrow we are leaving and i need some sleep

We had so much fun today. We went everywhere in DC. It was awesome sharing the experiances that we have shared as a group. I am really suprised in how our group bonded. We all got along really well and we didnt get mad at all at anyone but we did argue about alot of things, in the end we all really liked each other. Its gunna really be sad when all of us have to leave. 🙁

Well today is the second day of the trip and boy is it early, but I guess it’s better then waking up at 3 like I had to do yesterday! I am so tired. When are we going to get some sleep around here? Well I’m getting ready to go to breakfeast. Hopefully today Newseum will have some stories to tell so I can tell you guys!
Today the blog stopped working so we couldnt blog! It was really sad none of us could blog. Well anyway. our first speaker was Wes Pippert. When he was up there talking he mentioned something about” the things we do need to know, and what things we don’t need to know,” I personally thought about it when I was walking out of the door, like what stuff was he talking about that we NEED to know. Is it war, peace or via local news. I couldnt figure out what it actually ment.
THE TRUTH!!!!
He also asked us what the definition of the truch is, he said it was not about twisting the story to make it better but its about getting to the core and the matter of the story not just the facts.
We also went to the Newseum was totally awesome and I would love to come back to DC in the future and go see it again. Everything today was the best as it could have been i wouldnt change anything.

Hello, I’m Brittany Sand. I live in Frederick, Colorado and I am going to be a senior at Frederick High School. I can’t wait, but I know as soon as I graduate I will miss it so I am going to have a blast! I haven’t decided what college I want to go to but I know I want to stay in Colorado. I know this Journalism and Media Conference so far, has made me think about getting more involved into the internet field more than the newspaper field. I have always been interested in media, web design and photography. If I don’t make it in one of those fields then I could only see myself as a Top Fuel Drag Racer, they go up to 270 mph down a quarter mile! I love drag racing it really is a thrill!
